Youth Football
13 – 15 year olds
Children turning 13 in the calendar year will be in Grade 13, children turning 14 in the calendar year are in Grade 14, and children turning 15 in the calendar year are in Grade 15. Team sometimes play in combined age groups, e.g. 14-15 year olds, depending on the number of teams registered
Ideally, teams comprise of thirteen players — 11 playing + 2 reserves.
In Grade 13 the playing teams are 11 a-side (including a goalkeeper), using a size 4 ball and on a full-size pitch with full-size goals. The Saturday game day includes a game of 2 x 30 minute halves.
In Grade 14 and 15 the playing teams are 11 a-side (including a goalkeeper), using a size 5 ball and on a full-size pitch with full-size goals. The Saturday game day includes a game of 2 x 35 minute halves.
Teams play in the Wellington/Western zone combined league. Potential for accomplished teams to play in the regional travel league. Results and Tables are published.
Weekly draws will be posted on the Capital Football Website: Fixtures, prior to each Saturday’s game.
You will be advised of the time, the grounds and which team you are playing against by your team manager.
Each team needs a coach and a manager. Each team also needs to have another person who can referee the weekly matches. (Capital Football provides referee training for this.)
