9 – 10 Year Olds

Children turning 11 in the calendar year will be in Grade 11 and children turning 12 in the calendar year in Grade 12. 

Ideally teams comprise of eleven players – 9 playing + 2 reserves. The playing teams are 9 a side (including a goalkeeper), using a size 4 ball and on a ground 60m by 45m with goals that are 4 x 2 metres. 

The Saturday game day comprises of 1 game of 2 x 25 minute halves.  Results and table are not published.  

There are usually between 1 and 2 training sessions a week. 

Teams play in the Wellington/Western zone combined league. Potential for accomplished teams to play in regional travel league. Weekly draws will be posted on the Capital Football Website: Fixtures, prior to each Saturday’s game. You will be advised of the time, the grounds and which team you are playing against by your team manager. 

Each team needs a coach, a manager and another volunteer who is not the coach who can referee the weekly matches. Capital Football commence their Federation Talent Centre programme at this level – refer Capital Football website for further details.
